24 au 27/10/2022 - Announcement of the "Workshop on metamaterials and biomechanics: from bio-inspiration to bio-metamaterials" - IRP Coss&Vita

Dear Colleagues,

This message is to give you further details about the Workshop on metamaterials and biomechanics: from bio-inspiration to bio-metamaterials organised by the International Research Project (IRP) Coss&Vita of the CNRS, in collaboration with the M&MoCS Research center of the University of L’Aquila.

The workshop will be held on October 24th– 27th  2022 in the beautiful city of Arpino (https://arpinoturismo.it ), Italy

We are proud to announce the following invited presentations :

Marco Miniaci (CNRS IEMN Lille, France) : Phononic crystals, Metamaterials, and bio-inspiration

Davide Ruffoni (University of Liège, Belgium) :  Biological and bio-inspired architectured materials and interfaces

Abdul Barakat (CNRS École Polytechnique, France):  Pushing the Frontiers of Health Engineering

The deadline for abstract submission is September 15th, 2022.

Details about registration fee and abstract submission are available on the website of the event to https://bio-meta-2022.sciencesconf.org/.

We recall here that the objective of the workshop is to gather experts in the field of mechanical modelling, biomechanics and experimental mechanics, around the emerging topic of bio-metamaterials.

Main topics

Bio-inspired materials

Homogenisation and effective properties

Shape, architecture and topological optimization

Elastic Waves

Interfaces and interphases

Additive manufacturing and mechanical testing

Instabilities, yield surfaces, fatigue

Materials with internal mechanisms, pantographs, origamis and folding strategies.

Mechanical modelling of complex materials and structure

Looking forward to seeing you in Arpino!

The organisers,

Giuseppe Rosi (MSME, Paris-Est Créteil)

Nicolas Bochud (MSME, Paris-Est Créteil)

Ivan Giorgio (University of L’Aquila)

Francesco D’Annibale (University of L’Aquila)
