Call for Abstracts

Prepare to present your research

We would like to invite you to submit your abstracts for the 19th CIRP Conference of Modeling of Machining Operations (CMMO), which will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany from 31st of May to 2nd of June 2023. The conference is a great chance for experts from academia and industry in the field of modeling of machining operations to present and discuss their findings on a very high level, which stimulates and supports the knowledge in this field. For more information, please visit the website:

Abstract Submission Deadline: 15th of June 2022

Conference Topics

  • Multiphysics, multiscale and kinematics modeling
  • Material behavior and tribological aspects in cutting
  • Artificial intelligence for modeling of machining
  • High performance and hard machining
  • Precision, ultra-precision and micro-machining
  • Grinding and non-conventional processes
  • Additive manufacturing and finishing of parts with complex surfaces and materials
  • Dynamics and stability of machining
  • Monitoring, diagnostics and optimization of machining processes
  • Surface conditioning in machining
  • Fluid-dynamic simulation
  • Modeling of energy- and resource-consumptions

The 19th CIRP Conference on Modeling of Machining Operations continues a long series of conferences, which was founded by our esteemed colleague Prof. I.S. Jawahir. In the previous conferences high quality research findings in the area of Numerical and Analytical Modeling of Machining and Surface Integrity and Tribological aspects of Cutting were presented. Topics like Multiscale Modeling, Artificial Intelligence, Fluid Dynamics and Surface Conditioning in Machining Processes are becoming more important. Therefore, these topics are included in the 19th CIRP Conference on Modeling of Machining Operations and will be discussed in separated sessions, which is a chance for the researchers to discuss their findings in detail. The success of the conference is guaranteed by the international scientific committee including the greatest researchers of this field. Delegates participating will enjoy additional networking opportunities during lunches, conference reception and conference dinner. Conference articles will be peer reviewed and published in the Elsevier Procedia CIRP journal, available online at

We look forward to receiving your submission. You are welcome to forward this mail to other interested colleagues. If you have already received this call for abstracts by another mailing list, we apologize.

The upload for abstracts will be open from 1st of May. More information will follow here:

Best regards,
